About
This is a mini Course going over the basic- but very often overlooked- aspects of how we should be breathing & engaging our core most efficiently with movement & hypermobility. As a neurodivergent human with an unstable, hypermobile body who needs a LOT of detail- I wanted to break down everything that took me (too many) years to learn with clarity, for others to better understand. The core is our powerhouse & if we aren't using it efficiently, we are setting ourselves up for tension & pain rather than success. With a rib flare pattern, I spent most of my life holding tension & holding my breath- forcing what I thought was core engagement. Constantly overloading my system with more tension & more pain, because I didn't understand the basics. So I headed back to square one. Slowing down, tuning in & getting in touch with deeper musculature of the core while recognizing it as a system- transforms quality of movement over time. -Goes over the basics of breathing & core engagement, especially relative to exercise -Gives lots of detailed visuals to help solidify understanding -Explains importance of a core that works efficiently- meaning in coordination- not certain muscles overpowering others & forcing stability through tension -Explains different techniques like Vacuum VS Valsalva, Engaging VS Bracing -Tips & breathing techniques to help encourage a more functional core & nervous system -Gets into common problems/patterns like Diastasis Recti, Scoliosis, Forward Head Posture & more -Breaks down "neutral"- what it means, how to find more neutral for your body- teaching you how to scan generally head to toe -Touches on breathing patterns common with hypermobility & how they relate to the nervous system -Explains hypermobility, flexibility, instability, stretching & more - Tutorials for simple exercises to work on core functionality that progress to more complex movement
